Southampton SharePoint User Group 24th June

Taylor Made Development Solutions Blog Post

Thanks to Ian Woodgate and the team @suguk for the SharePoint meeting on Thursday 24th June 2010.

Despite Mark and me being a touch late due to the venue changing, we found it extremely useful.

- The SharePoint Governance was replaced with an Access 2010 demonstration by Andrew Webster. This was a massive eye opener of publishing Access 2010 databases to a SharePoint site (web databases).

- Vicky Anderson gave a high level, speedy overview to the Infrastructure at the Southampton University.

After a short break

- Dave, Chris and Darren gave a very light hearted overview of the SharePoint development work they had been doing at Twynham School. The journey to SharePoint 2010 Land was very interesting and included information about how to force people from network shared and on to SharePoint (make them read only!). It also showed information about attendance of students in real time. The SharePoint site included videos within SharePoint to aid the teaching process.

It was also a bonus to win Windows 7 by getting involved with the #suguk Twitter tag. :)

I suggest if you have anything to do with SharePoint to get to the next meeting!
